The effect of a modified fragment of neuropeptide y on spatial memory and learning in the Morris water maze

Neuropeptide Y (NPY) is a biologically active neuropeptide that responsible for large list of physiological processes. We propose short modified fragment NPY should at least partially have spectrum biological activity the original peptide. The compound was named nonapeptide NP9.

 Materials methods: performed on 24 one-year-old random-bred female rats weight 220–250 g. animals were divided into 3 groups 8 each: treated with solvent (0.9 % NaCl), solution peptide NP9 0.02 mg/kg drug “Semax” 0.1 mg/kg. All drugs administered intranasally. effect learning in psychopharmacological test Morris water maze. Navigation parameters analyzed using Noldus EthoVision XT 14 video tracking software. escape latency, distance moved, average velocity meander recorded.
